A crown is usually advised when a tooth is root canal treated or when a cavity is large or in certain fractured teeth. Crown is made in metal, metal-ceramic or full ceramic material.  Crown works as full coverage on the tooth crown so it reinforces the weak tooth structure. This increases the life span of that tooth.

​To provide space for the crown, the dentist prepares the tooth by reducing it uniformly by around 0.5mm to 2mm following the original shape & contours.

​Bridge is a fixed partial denture which replaces one or more missing teeth. In this, the missing tooth or teeth are attached to supporting crowns of adjacent back and front teeth. This whole assembly that is supporting crowns and missing teeth is made in metal, metal-ceramic or all ceramic material.
